Professional whitening

Lightening the colour of the enamel with a gel applied at the practice or at home, under supervision.

What it is

Professional whitening lightens the teeth with a peroxide-based gel, applied in a controlled way. It is done at the practice, or at home with trays made to the shape of your teeth and a gel of the right strength, under the dentist's supervision.

When it suits

When healthy teeth have darkened over time from coffee, tea or tobacco. It is not done over untreated decay or receding gums, because the gel can reach the nerve. It does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or fillings; if you have any where they show, we discuss beforehand what makes sense.

How it works here

First a check-up and, if needed, a professional clean, so the gel works on clean enamel. The gums are protected before the gel goes on.

What you will feel

Some sensitivity to cold in the first days is common and passes on its own. How to keep the result is covered in after teeth whitening.
