After veneers are fitted
How the bite settles in the first days, and how veneers are looked after long term.
How recovery goes
The first days
Teeth may be slightly sensitive to hot and cold, and your tongue notices a new surface. Both settle within a few days. If one veneer touches first when you bite, call us for an adjustment.
The first weeks
Speech adjusts quickly; some sounds may come out slightly differently for a few days. You chew normally, but don't bite straight into very hard food with your front teeth.
If a sound still bothers you after two weeks, tell us at the check-up.
Long term
Porcelain doesn't stain, but the edge between veneer and tooth needs careful brushing and flossing. Don't use your teeth as tools (opening packets, biting nails). If you grind at night, we recommend a protective night guard.
At every check-up we look at the edges of the veneers and at your bite, and the professional clean uses instruments that don't scratch porcelain. Always mention that you have veneers, including at another practice.
