Night guard

A tray worn at night that protects the teeth from grinding and clenching.

What it is

A night guard is a plastic tray made to the shape of your teeth, usually worn at night. It sits between the upper and lower teeth and takes the force of grinding, so the enamel doesn't wear and restorations don't break.

When it is needed

With bruxism, when the teeth are wearing down, after veneers or crowns that need protecting, or when the face muscles and jaw joint ache in the morning.

How it works here

We scan or take an impression, and the guard is made in the lab to fit you. We check it when it's fitted and at check-ups. Clean it daily with a brush and cold water and keep it in its case. It doesn't stop the grinding, but it stops the damage.
